train trip

Last Friday, Sandy got some good news. Her bloodcounts are all in the normal range which means she is tolerating her chemo very well.

On Sunday, we went took a day trip to East Troy to ride on the Electric Train. The train goes to Muckwonago where we enjoyed a piece of pie at the Elegant Farmer. Can you spot Sandy?

Sandy asked that comments be kept private so if you would like to make any, please send them to her email account.

Update: Due to popular demand, Sandy has changed her mind about the comments. She told me to change the site to allow comments.

I am glad you changed you mind Sand about the comments. I liked reading them and it was a good place to store information. Coffee time yet?
Love ya,
John

I received some very good questions that I would like to share with everyone. The questioner will reamain anonymous; she is rather shy.

Your latest posting on your website indicated that Sandy’s blood counts were within the normal range – however, she mentioned something about them tweeking her medicines.
1. Exactly what medicines did they tweek and why were they tweeked?

They gave her another medication to take in addition to the Zofran. It is a compozine generic and helps to control naseau. They also gave her a mild sleeping pill and changed her Zantac to Previcid to better control the amount of acid in her stomache.

2. Did they do any tweeking to the chemo? (Note: Tweeking means dosage).

No they did not.

3. Does she continue on this chemo medicine after these initial weeks – meaning does she take these pills for however long she’s originally slotted?

She will stay on Temador but on a different dosage and schedule. Basically she will take a higher dose for five days followed by 23 days of no medication. The cycle reapeats every 28 days.

4. Then does she go off them for awhile and then go back on them?

See question 3. How long she reamains on the schedule described in #3 is not known at this time.

Hi Sandy,

I glad to see that you put your website back up. I like to read what other people are saying and sometimes they have the same questions as I do or if I have a question I can just post it here and other people may have the same question then it only has to be answered once. I really enjoy seeing pictures of you and the progress you are making. Love you lots.

Looks like you are tolerating the chemo and radioation very well! Wonderful! You are looking good too...I knew you right away in the photo on the train. Keep up the great attitude as that will take you far!
Love you,

Hi Sandy,

Glad to hear that you were able to make Justin's football game and it didn't rain. To bad the score was like the Packers score on Friday night. I was wondering if you or John took pictures during the game, if so I would love to see them. I will talk to you later today, since Kyle did inform me yesterday (Saturday) that since it is past midnight it actually is Sunday and not Saturday night anymore. Hope you got a good nights rest. We love you, John, Breanna, Erin, who happens to be my favorite neice on Wednesday's Ha Ha Ha and Charlie, but not that annoying bird.

Love,
Lori, Jimmy, Otis and Sadie
